Cook
The station cook will prepare and serve four nutritional meals a day (breakfast, smoko, lunch and dinner). A positive can-do attitude is a must for this physically demanding job with early starts and long days, but for an organised person there is plenty of time for breaks.
You will have good personal hygiene, maintain an extremely clean and tidy kitchen, store and prepare food to meet strict food safety and handling standards.
Previous experience in a similar role or catering background is essential. Catering numbers varying depending on the station, usually between 10-20, with additional visitors and functions on an ad-hoc basis.
A friendly, self-motivated nature is important to this position along with an honest work ethic.
This is a seasonal position running from early March until November, and someone who can commit to this whole period will normally be favoured over someone who can’t.
